Paper Hand Fan Here's a craft everyone can be a fan of! Not only does it help keep you cool, but it also helps your autistic kiddo practice fine motor skills and express their creativity. What You'll Need:
Construction paper
Markers (optional)
Glue
Popsicle sticks Instructions:
If you plan to decorate your fan, use your markers to draw on your construction paper and popsicle sticks before starting to shape your fan. Remember, some parts will be folded up!
Take your first piece of construction paper and begin to fold it like an accordion on the long side of the sheet. Make one fold on the front, flip the paper over, make another fold, flip it over, and repeat.
Once your construction paper has been folded into an accordion, fold it in half and add glue to the two pieces in the middle.
Set aside to dry and repeat the folding process with three more sheets of construction paper to create a large fan. For a smaller fan, use 2-3 sheets.
Once the glue has dried on your four folded sheets, add glue to one end of each folded sheet and begin joining them together. Don't join the outside ends of your four sheets. Take two popsicle sticks and add glue to one side of each. Then, join them with the end of your folded sheets that are not glued together.
Allow the glue to dry on your fan. Once dry, you can open and close your hand fan with the popsicle sticks and keep cool when needed!Download Now!
