Paper Plate Butterflies Welcome in the Spring with this fun craft that allows your autistic kiddo to practice fine motor skills, like cutting and pasting, while also using some of their creativity! What You’ll Need:
Paper plate
Popsicle stick
Pipecleaners
Markers or paint (optional)
Googly eyes
Glue
Gems or sequins (optional) Instructions:
Carefully cut your paper plate in half.
Take one half and cut a triangle from the straight end to form your butterfly’s wing. Repeat on the other half.
Decorate your butterfly wings with markers, paint, or anything else your kiddo might enjoy. If adding something with glue, allow it to lightly dry.
Decorate the popsicle stick, which will become the butterfly’s body.
Once you finish decorating it, add some glue to the back of your googly eyes and place them at the top of your popsicle stick. Use a marker to make the mouth.
Carefully cut your pipecleaners into four strips. Roll one of the pipecleaners to create the antenna of your butterfly, and repeat on another strip.
Using glue, or hot glue if needed, attach the pipecleaners to the back of your popsicle stick.
Then glue the wings to the back of your popsicle stick to complete your butterfly!Download Now!
