Mini Piñatas If you and your kiddo are looking for a colorful craft to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with, these mini piñatas are the answer. Not only are they easier to open than a real piñata, but you can also fill them with confetti for a more gentle and colorful surprise! What you'll need:
- Toilet paper rolls
- Ribbon
- Colored tissue paper
- Tape
- Scissors
- Glue Instructions:
1. To create a handle for your piñata, tape both ends of a strip of ribbon to the opening of your paper roll. 2. Grab your colorful tissue paper and help your kiddo pick out the colors of their piñata. Cut about a 1-inch strip of each color and create fringes at the bottom. 3. Cut a square of tissue paper large enough to cover the base of your piñata and tape it to your roll to seal the piñata. 4. Help your child glue each color of tissue paper on the paper roll. Be sure to glue each strip right after the fringe of the previous strip to prevent gaps. Tip: fold the fringes up to see where the next tissue strip should go.
5. Grab another piece of ribbon, this one long enough for your kiddo to pull and open the piñata with. Tape one end of the ribbon to the seal you created at the bottom of your piñata.
6. Using any scraps from your colorful tissue paper, cut small pieces of confetti to fill your piñata with. Feel free to add in store-bought confetti if you already have some.
7. Once your piñatas are built and filled, hang them by the handles and allow your child to open their piñata for a colorful surprise! Download Now!
