Spring Flower Bouquet Craft Let's make some Spring flowers that are here to stay! This craft is the perfect way to unleash your autistic child's creativity and work on some fine motor skills. What you'll need:
- Construction paper - Scissors
- Glue
- Green paper straw (optional) Instructions:
1. Allow your kiddo to pick out a few colors of construction paper to use as the petals of their flower. On the construction paper, draw a heart to form one of your petals. 2. Repeat this on each color of construction paper, making some hearts slightly larger than others to make each petal unique!
3. Cut out each of your heart-shaped petals and separate them into three piles. Allow your kiddo to decide what colors each flower will have. 4. On green construction paper, draw leaves for each of your flowers. You can make these heart-shaped as well!
5. Cut your leaves out and set them aside for later. 6. On yellow or orange construction paper, draw three circles. These will become the center of each of your flowers.
7. Cut the circles out and group with your flower petals. 8. Beginning with one of your circle pieces, add glue to the tip of a heart petal and attach it to your circle. Continue gluing the tips of your petals until you make your first inner row. The number of petals on the inner row will depend on the size of your circle and petals.
9. Now that you have your inner row, add glue to the tip of your next heart petal and attach it in between two of your petals from your first row. Repeat until you have finished another row of petals.
10. Create as many rows of petals as you like, cutting out more heart petals as needed. Repeat for your other two flowers.
11. Once all three flower heads are complete, add glue to the top of your green paper straw and attach it to the back of your flower head. If you are not using a paper straw, roll green construction paper lengthwise to form your flower stem instead.
12. Take your green leaves and glue them along the stem of your flower. You can display your completed bouquet in a mason jar to enjoy them all day!Download Now!
