The start of the Lunar New Year varies each year because it follows the phases of the moon. Lunar New Year is a 15-day festival that has been celebrated for thousands of years. There are many fun activities during the festival. The festival can have:

Dragon dances
Plays
The festival allows families and friends to come together and honor their ancestors while they welcome the new year. The color red is seen all over the festival as it is said to bring good luck and good fortune. People wear red and decorate their homes with beautiful red items.
