Using the Toilet

Our “Using the Toilet” Social Story guides learners step by step with visuals and simple language, building confidence and independence in bathroom routines.

Using the Toilet at School When I am at school, I may sometimes need to use the bathroom.
I can raise my hand and ask my teacher if I can go to the bathroom.
When I walk into the bathroom stall, I will make sure to close the door all the way shut.
Closing the door is important so that other students do not see into my stall.
When I use the toilet, I will make sure to aim into the water in the toilet bowl.
Aiming into the toilet bowl helps keep:
the bathroom stall clean.
the bathroom floor dry.
my shoes and clothes dry.
Once I am done using the toilet, I will make sure to put my pants back on and flush.
I will make sure I am fully dressed before leaving the bathroom stall.
Then I will wash my hands in the sink with soap and water, before drying them with a paper towel.
I will throw the paper towel in the trash and then leave the bathroom to return to class.Download Now!
