Cheesy Mozzarella Sticks

This cheesy recipe helps your autistic child practice fine motor skills and patience while working toward a delicious homemade reward.

Perfect for your little cheese lover, this advanced recipe practices fine motor skills and, most importantly, patience. This recipe provides an opportunity to work on the skill and offers a cheesy, delicious reward at the end! Ingredients:
- 12 Mozzarella Cheese Sticks
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs - 1/2 cup of panko bread crumbs Instructions:
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut your mozzarella sticks in half to create 24 smaller sticks, and arrange them on the baking sheet. Place the sheet in the freezer and allow the cheese to freeze for one hour.
- Set up your dipping station by lining up three shallow bowls. In the first bowl, add your flour. Whisk your eggs together in the second bowl. Finally, add both of your bread crumbs to the third bowl. - Once your mozzarella sticks are frozen, begin the coating process. Dip one frozen mozzarella stick into the flour and coat it well. Move the mozzarella stick from the flour bowl into the egg bowl and coat it well. From the egg bowl, coat the mozzarella stick in the bread crumbs. Lightly press the bread crumbs into place. Tip: If your kiddo does not enjoy certain textures, consider using gloves for the coating process. - Repeat the coating process once more before moving on to the remaining mozzarella sticks.
- Once you have coated all your mozzarella sticks twice, place the baking tray back in the freezer. Allow the mozzarella sticks to freeze again, this time for 3 hours. Freezing again keeps your cheese from melting out of the breading.
- When your mozzarella sticks are frozen, preheat your oven to 400°F. Once preheated, move your baking sheet from the freezer to the oven and bake for 8 minutes or until golden.
- Remove from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes before enjoying with your kiddo's favorite dipping sauce!Download Now!
