Visiting the Library

Our new social story helps learners prepare for a trip to the library — building confidence, independence, and a love for reading along the way.

Visiting the Library We're going to the library today!
The library is a place filled with many fun and exciting books to read.
It also has other events and resources for the community, like:
Group Storytime
Computers
Crafting Events
Author Meet and Greets
When we arrive at the library, many people may already be reading.
We need to use quiet voices and walking feet so we don't disrupt their focus.
There may be some books that I'd like to read, too.
I can read a book in the library, or if I would like to take one home, I can check out a book.
Checking out a book means I get to borrow it for a few weeks, and then I will bring it back by the due date.
The librarian at the library will help me check out the book and tell me when to turn it in.
Librarians have many different jobs at the library:
Checking out books
Organizing new and existing books
Providing research assistance
Planning events at the library
I can thank my librarian for all the hard work they do.
Visiting the library is great because there is always a new book to read and lots of places in the library to read them!Download Now!
