No Sidewalk, No Problem

Whether going for a walk, heading to a nearby park, or getting some exercise, children may sometimes find themselves on roads without sidewalks. For autistic children, these situations can feel confusing or overwhelming—especially when they’re unsure of the safest way to walk.

No Sidewalk, No Problem:
Sometimes we will go for a walk around our neighborhood. It could be to exercise, Trick-or-Treat, or see holiday lights.
If the neighborhood does not have a sidewalk, I need to be extra careful.
I will hold the hand of the adult in my group to make sure I am safe.
As we walk on the street, I will stay on the side closest to the houses. I will follow instructions and not run when we are on the street.
If a car is approaching, I will calmly let it pass by.
Walking around the neighborhood is fun when I am walking safely with an adult.Download Now!
